Barbara J. (Sholl) Redding

Barbara J. Redding, 91, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, June 21, 2024, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York, PA.

Born December 1, 1932, in Hanover, PA  she was a daughter of the late Curvin and Viola (Becker) Sholl. 

Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She retired from A Touch of Antiquity and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Jayne Eline and husband, John of Winter Park, FL, Ellen Rineman of Hanover, PA, and Robin Schroter of Mt. Wolf, PA; five grandchildren, Kristy Reitz and husband, Matt, Brittany Wasser and husband, Jeremy, Abby Torrence and husband, Jeremy, Brenna Schroter, and Alec Schroter; five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Connor, Canon, Axel, and Maeva; and her companion, Donald Bair of Gettysburg, PA.  

Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh S. Redding; son-in-law, Craig Rineman; granddaughter, Ashley Eline; and sister, Linda Dell.

A memorial service will be held 10 AM, Friday, August 2, 2024 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman officiating.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Barbara’s honor be made to the Guthrie Memorial Library, 301 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA  17331.
