Barbara A. Trone, 85, of Spring Grove, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Pappus House, Thomasville, PA, with her loving family by her side.
Born July 18, 1940, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Denton E. and Anna R. (Breighner) Kopp. She was the loving wife of the late William D. Trone with whom she shared 57 years of marriage until his passing on May 27, 12016, and the companion of the late Robert Young for five years until his passing.
Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Eichelberger High School. She retired from Giant Foods after 22 years of service, and she later worked for American Greetings cards.
Barbara was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York Street, Hanover. She was also a member of various card clubs throughout the years.
Barbara enjoyed the beach and traveling all throughout the country with her late husband in their motor home. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor.
Barbara is survived by her children; Deena L. Haines and her husband Raymond of Hanover, PA, Scott W. Trone and his wife Jodi of Hanover, PA, Jeffrey L. Trone and his wife Janet of Thomasville, PA, two grandchildren; Stephanie Slenker and her husband Dustin, Kimberly Whitney, two step-granddaughters; Jaci Lawrence and Allysa Alton, five great-grandchildren; Gabriel, Alexander, Rylee, Damien and Morgan, one step great grandchild, Theodore, one great great grandchild, Delilah, and two siblings, Jeannie Myers and Steven Kopp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Robertazzi.
A service to celebrate and remember Barbara’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA. Visitations will be held from 2:30 – 4:30 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, and from 10 – 11 AM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the funeral home.
