Barbara S. DeGennaro, 77, formerly of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Brethren Home Community.
Born September 13, 1948, in Washington, Dc, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys (Levy) Camp. Barbara was the loving wife of the late Alan J. DeGennaro with whom she shared 39 years of marriage until his passing on August 15, 2017.
Barbara worked as a teacher’s Aide at South Western School District for over 20 years until her retirement.
Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, where she was also a Eucharistic Minister.
Barbara was an avid reader. She loved her grandchildren and was very active in their school lives and often donated her time and books to many of their classes.
Barbara cared deeply for the many friendships she fostered through the years, and enjoyed shopping and lunch outings with them.
Barbara is survived by her son, Matthew DeGennaro and wife Daphne of Fairfield, PA, three grandchildren, Audri, Norah, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Camp, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Cole Mase as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
