Bernice Wagner Weber of Homewood at Plum Creek Continuum Care Community entered into God’s eternal care on June 4th, 2024, at Homewood.
Born on September 30, 1936, in Bethlehem, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Leroy Wagner and Christine (Kehley) Wagner. She was the wife of Russell C. Weber, Jr. of Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA.
She graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA and worked as a bookkeeper in the law offices of H.P McFadden. During her early years of marriage, she worked as a teller at various banks, including Bethlehem, PA, Washington D.C., Syracuse, NY, and Boston, MA. She raised two children, Debra Joan and Robert Christopher. When her children were of college age, Bernice went back to work at London Fog in Eldersburg, MD. where she became a Senior Buyer of accessories. In 1988, Bernice had to leave London Fog, due to breast cancer.
Bernice was an avid tennis player in her younger years. In high school she played Varsity basketball at Liberty High School. She was a member of the Jaycee wives of Bethlehem and was involved in many community activities.
After 31 years in Eldersburg, MD, Bernice moved to Homewood at Plum Creek in 2005 with her husband, Russ. At Homewood she was the scorekeeper and statistician for the Dart Baseball League. She was also Treasurer for the Grace United Church of Christ Seniors. Bernice enjoyed reading novels and doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Her children loved to play board and word games with her.
Bernice is survived by her husband of 67 years, Russ, her daughter Debra Joan Kiley, her husband Jeffrey Kiley and their son Thomas Kiley of Reisterstown, MD., as well as her son Robert Christopher Weber of Westminster, MD and his two children, Nicole of Alexandria, VA and Matthew Weber of Eldersburg, MD.
Funeral arrangements will be private at the request of the family. Cremation will be performed by the Kenworthy Funeral Home of Hanover. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.kenworthyfh.com
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Bernice’s name to the Homewood at Plum Creek Benevolent Fund, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA 17331.
