Betty K. Long

Betty K. Long, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born August 26, 1935, in Lock Haven, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford C. and Vera E. (Weaver) Vonada.  Betty was the loving wife of Louis C. Long with whom she shared 66       years of marriage.  

Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanover, PA, where she was active in the United Methodist Women as well as Women’s Circle.  She was also a member of the Hanover Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.

Betty worked for 10 years at the Bon Ton in Hanover and retired from Tradition House.

Betty enjoyed flowers, her Tea Sisters group and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Louis, Betty is survived by her sons, Jeffrey C. Long and wife Tatia Blackwell of Lock Haven, PA, Michael E. Long and wife Pamela of Hanover, PA, David C. Long and wife Margie Frisk of Spring Grove, PA, and Charles C. Long and wife Pamela of Hanover, PA; seven grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy J. Vonada of Williamsport, PA.  She was preceded in death by one brother, William C. Vonada.

A service to celebrate and remember Betty’s life will be held 11 AM, Monday, May 2, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Dr. B. Michael Brossman officiating.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 3-5 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2022 as well as from 10 – 11 AM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at the church.   Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall, PA at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, May 3, 2022.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
