Betty L. Teal

Betty L. Teal, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the UPMC Hanover Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Born February 16, 1933 in Littlestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Emma P. (Wildasin) Hahn.  Betty was the loving wife of the late Earl H. Teal Sr., with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his passing on December 13, 2014.

Mrs. Teal was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Littlestown, PA., and was a volunteer at the Hanover Hospital for 40 years.

Betty worked in the Dietary Department at Homewood at Plum Creek Retirement Community for 19 years until her retirement in December of 2011.  She was an AVON lady for over 20 years and was a babysitter.

Betty enjoyed playing cards, going on bus trips, talking on the phone with friends, was a fan of Elvis Presley, and loved attending her grandchildren’s events.

Betty is survived by her sons, Earl H. Teal, Jr. and wife Sharen of Hanover, PA, Tony L. Teal and wife Anne-Marie Kikuchi-Teal of Philadelphia, PA, Toby L. Teal of New Oxford, PA and Troy L. Teal and wife Lisa of Abbottstown, PA; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Teal of New Oxford, PA; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Todd, and Kristi; 3 step grandchildren, Jess, Joel, and Kevin; 6 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ray L. Hahn of Hanover, PA and Fred A. Hahn of Spring Grove, PA.  She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy L. Teal; and one sister, Mary E. Leppo.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Betty’s life will be held 11 AM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Christ United Church of Christ, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown, PA, with her Pastor, the Rev. Craig Arentz officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 – 11 AM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at the church.
