Betty J. Slagle

Betty J. Slagle, 93, of Hanover, PA entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born November 19, 1931, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Mary N. (Baumgardner) Rebert.  Betty was the loving wife of the late William E. Slagle who died February 1, 1985.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She worked as a customer service representative for 13 years until her retirement in 1999.

Betty enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and games, putting puzzles together, and reading.  She especially enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children, Daniel L. Slagle and wife Vera of Hanover, PA, Richard S. Slagle and wife Karen of Hanover, PA, Deborah A. Young and husband Bob of Pensacola, Fl, and Michael A. Slagle and wife Cynthia of Hanover, PA, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Pat Duncan and Marion Rider, and two brothers, Gary Rebert and wife Rose, and Rick Rebert.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Geraldine Walker, Doris Steich, George Rebert, Jr., Cletus Rebert, Ralph Rebert, Harold Rebert, Donald Rebert, and Carroll Rebert.

A service to celebrate and remember Betty’s life will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Patti Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  The family will receive friends from 10 -11 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
