Beverly A. Nehr

Beverly A. Nehr, 75, of McSherrystown, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center, Hanover, PA.

Born November 26, 1948, in Hanover, PA, she was daughter of the late Herbert M. and Grace R. (Heiss) Hemler.  Beverly was the loving wife of the late Randall P. Nehr with whom she shared seventeen years of marriage until his passing on September 28, 2013.

Beverly worked at the Dertex Shoe factory for over thirty years.  She worked at Whisler’s Dry Cleaners, Smokin Joes, and most recently in the cafeteria at Delone Catholic H.S.

Beverly was the past president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion – Post 14, and was also a member of the Hanover VFW, and the Amvets Post 22.  She volunteered with Flags Across America and Wreaths Across America.  Beverly was a hard worker and was very supportive of Veterans.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Denise Conrad and husband Tim of Hanover, PA, Dawn Mummert of Hanover, PA, and Donna Vacek and companion Ryan Groft of Abbottstown, PA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Dixie Groft of New Oxford, PA.

A memorial service to celebrate and remember Beverly will be held 11AM, Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Deacon Tom Aumen officiating.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10AM-11AM, Monday, August 26, 2024, at the funeral home.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover PA.
