Bonita L. Groft

Bonita “Bonnie” L. Groft, 66, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Pappus House, Thomasville, PA.

Born March 21, 1959, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Geraldine (Laughman) Meckley.  Bonnie was the loving wife of Barry E. Groft, with whom she shared 18 years of marriage.

Bonnie was a 1977 graduate of South Western High School, Hanover, PA.  She loved children and recently retired from a 35-year career in child day care.  

Bonnie was a member of the Hanover Eagles.  She enjoyed gardening and crafting, loved nature, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband, Barry, Bonnie is survived by two children, Joseph A. Curtis and partner Lyndsey D’Ambrosia of Lemoyne, PA, and Jessica L. Daugherty and husband Bryan of York, PA; two grandchildren, Simon and Henry Daugherty; and three siblings, Thomas Meckley, Constance Hahn, and Tony Meckley.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held on August 30 from 2:00 until 5:00 at the Hanover Eagles club.
