Brenda G. Orndorff, 76, died suddenly at UPMC Hanover Hospital on Friday, June 28, 2024, with her family and companion by her side.
Born August 16, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Stanley of Chambersburg, PA. Brenda was the loving wife of James Orndorff, Sr., with whom she shared 28 years of marriage and was predeceased by him on December 13, 2009. Brenda is survived by her beloved friend and companion, Gary “Coop” Cooper and his son, Matthew, as well as eight step-children, James Orndorff, Jr. and wife, Diane of Naperville, IL, Claire Farrell of Taneytown, MD, David Orndorff and wife, Theresa (Ann) of Casper, WY, Lois Whaley (Joseph) of Rockville, MD, Ronald Orndorff (Regina), Diane Helwig and husband Donald all of Hanover, PA, Richard Orndorff and wife, Gale of Gettysburg, PA, and Stephen Orndorff and wife, Hanh (Tyler Paden) of Hanover, PA; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Brenda was a graduate of Chambersburg High School, class of 1965. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader, was generous with her time in helping others, and greatly loved being with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
A Blessing service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held 12 PM, Monday, July 15, 2024, at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331. Inurnment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. A time to visit and share memories with the family will be held Monday, July 15, 2024, from 11 AM until the time of service at 12 PM, at the funeral home.
