Burnell William Reichart, 80, of Hanover, PA, died Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, York, PA.
Born December 26, 1941, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Earl W. and Hilda M. (Raubenstine) Reichart. Burnell was the loving husband of Doris B. (Mummert) Reichart with whom he would have shared 50 years of marriage this October.
Burnell was a 1959 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the United States Army.
Burnell worked in the office at Hanover Shoe Farms, the Hanover Shoe Company, was a nightwatchman at Cremer Florist, and worked at the Hanover Bowling Center for many years until his retirement in early 2021.
Burnell was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.
Burnell enjoyed bowling in various bowling leagues, flower and vegetable gardening, topiary trimming, mini-golfing, and especially playing with his grandkids and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Doris, Burnell is survived by his daughter Barbara R. Trout and husband Chad C. Trout of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA; two grandsons, Seth W. Trout and Jonah E. Trout both of Pennsylvania Furnace, PA; and one sister, Arlene H. (Reichart) Harner of Hanover, PA.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Burnell’s life will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 127 York Street, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor the Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Visitations will be from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, as well as from 10 -11 AM, Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the church.
