Burnell E. Trone

Burnell E. Trone, 87, of Spring Grove, PA, entered God’s eternal care Monday, March 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 26, 1938, in York, PA, he was the son of the late Roy S. and Ada (Markel) Trone.  Burnell was the loving husband of Nadine M. (Warner) Trone with whom he shared 68 years of marriage.   

Burnell was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ, Spring Grove, PA.

Burnell retired from P.H. Glatfelter, Spring Grove, PA, with over 33 years of service.

Burnell was a lifetime member of Porter’s Fire Department, the Hanover Eagles F.O.E. #1406, and the VFW Post #5265 in Spring Grove.  He enjoyed bowling and softball, was a huge Orioles and Steelers fan, had a green thumb for gardening, and loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Nadine, Burnell is survived by his children, Vivian Roth and husband Michael of Dover, PA, Julie Hoover of Spring Grove, PA, and John Trone and wife Karen of Inman, SC; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Darryl Trone; a daughter, Valerie Trone; and two sisters, Mary Lou Shriver, and Helen Reindollar.

A service to celebrate and remember Burnell will be held 2:00PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Bethel United Church of Christ, 2112 Yingling Drive, Spring Grove, PA, with his pastor the Rev. Zoe Koggle officiating.  Burial will be in Zion’s Shaffer’s Church Cemetery.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be from 1:00-2:00PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at the church.
