C. Daniel Weber Obituary

C. Daniel Weber, 83, of Hanover, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Homewood at Plum Creek.

Dan was born in Hanover, on January 16, 1939, son of the late Charles A. and Doratha (Carver) Weber. He was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, Class of 1957, as well as Hiram College, graduating in 1961 with a degree in Economics. Following his graduation from Hiram College, Dan served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1961-1967. It was during his time in the National Guard, where he served as a communications officer, that Dan developed his love of audio equipment.

Dan enjoyed a long and successful career as an insurance broker in Hanover, serving as president of CA Weber Agency, Inc. from 1965 until his sale of the business in 1999.

During his professional career and continuing after his retirement, Dan was active member of the Hanover community, serving many community and professional organizations in various capacities including the Shepmyers Investment Company Board, the Hamilton Bank Advisory Board, the YMCA Board of Directors, the YMCA Board of Trustees, and the Mount Olivet Cemetery Board. Most significant, however, was Dan’s service to the Hanover Hospital. Dan was a past chairman of the Hanover Hospital Board of Directors and the organization’s longest serving board member, dedicating fifty years of service to its board. Dan continued to serve Hanover Hospital as a member of the Hanover Hospital Foundation Board until the time of his passing.

Additionally, Dan was active for many years with the United Way of York County, the Hanover Elks Club and was also a life member of the Hanover Arcadian Social Club.

Dan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Martin) Weber; two daughters Lea Weber Ridenhour and her husband, Eriks Janelsins, of Wheeling, West Virginia and Molly A. Weber of Greensboro, North Carolina; and two granddaughters Eve and Grace Ridenhour, also of Wheeling, West Virginia. In addition, Dan is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The Weber family is grateful for the excellent care that he received at Homewood until the time of his death.
