Catherine "Kitty" R. Zumbrum

Catherine “Kitty” R. Zumbrum, 87, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Normandie Ridge Nursing Center.

Born May 8, 1939 in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Bessie C. (Wilson) Wentz.  Kitty was the loving wife of the late Lester L. Zumbrum with whom she shared 37 years of marriage until his passing on October 8, 1996.

Kitty worked at the former Hanover House and Hanover Shoe Company and the as a prep cook at Railside Restaurant for 12 years until her retirement in 2020.

Kitty was a member of St. Paul’s Dubs Lutheran Church.   She enjoyed making crafts and spending time with family and friends.

Kitty is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Hancock and husband Richard of Hanover, PA, one granddaughter, Kristin L. Hancock, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Calvin W. Wentz, Pauline V. Wentz Haugh Myers, and Robert L. Wentz.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Kitty’s life will be held 10 AM, Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor the Rev. Dr. Martha Boyer officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, June 11, 2026 as well as from 9-10 AM, Friday June 12, 2026 at the funeral home.
