Catherine V. Arians

Catherine V. Arians, 100, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, September 5, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.

Born March 22, 1925, in Patterson, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eleanor Smithers.  Catherine was the loving wife of the late Lambert C. Arians who passed away March 28, 2006.

Catherine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover PA.

Catherine graduated from East Side High School in Patterson, NJ in 1943.  She was a toy store manager, and also worked at Stauffer’s and York Peppermint Patty before her retirement.

Catherine was active at the Windy Hill Senior Center, loved BINGO, and was talented with crafts, and enjoyed crocheting sweaters for family members.

Catherine is survived by her children, Dennis Arians of Hanover, PA, Bruce Arians of Georgia, Kathleen Hanks of WV, Bert Arians of VA, and John Arians of Hanover, PA; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, plus 2 more on the way.  She was preceded in death by 6 siblings.    

Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in Catherine’s name to the Hospice Program of the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 40 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
