Charles C. Biesecker

Charles C. Biesecker, 81, of Hanover, PA, and Merritt Island, FL, entered God’s eternal care on Friday, April 11, 2025, at UPMC Harrisburg, with his loving family by his side.

Born May 30, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Calvin N. and Catherine M. (Keller) Biesecker.  Charlie was the loving husband of the late Janet (Smith) Biesecker who passed away in May 2021.

Charlie was a 1961 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. He received a B.S. in Biological Sciences from St. Francis University, and a Masters in Teaching of Reading from Shippensburg University.  He taught 7th grade science at the Hanover Public School district for thirty-four years until his retirement. One of his greatest joys was the impact he made on his students.

Charlie enjoyed antiquing, estate sales, and crossword puzzles, but his favorite activity was spending time with his family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his children, Christopher Biesecker and wife Krista of Glen Mills, PA, Jessica Blumenthal and husband Rob Brunory of Salisbury, NC; and four grandchildren: Andrew Biesecker, Olivia Biesecker, Ben Blumenthal, and Alex Blumenthal. He is also survived by his former wife Ellen (Weaver) Biesecker of Hanover, PA.

Whether you knew him as “Mr. B”, “Charles”, “Chuck”, “Charlie”, “Char”, “Dad”, or “Pop”, you were lucky to have experienced his quirky sense of humor which he loved to share with friends and strangers alike. He found great joy in making others laugh.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Charlie will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Javed Kashif as celebrant.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to Mass from 10 to 11 AM.  A luncheon to celebrate his life will be held following the Mass. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family only requests that you spend time making memories with your loved ones and enjoy the laughter and good times as Charlie always did.
