Charles Knight Obituary

Charles S. Knight, 85, of Glenville, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, July 15, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side.

Born April 18, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Gertrude C. (Guise) Knight.  Charles was the loving husband of Helen F. (Chinault) Knight with whom he shared sixty-two years of marriage and brought her coffee in bed every morning.  

Charles was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Navy.  He was a paramedic with the Baltimore County Fire Department for twenty-three years until his retirement in 1992 and was a member of the Baltimore County Retirees Association. 

Charles was a pianist, a car enthusiast, worked on computers, radios and TVs.  He enjoyed riding his John Deere and mowing his grass and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Helen, Charles is survived by his children, Laura A. Stambaugh of Hanover, PA, William C. Knight and wife Teresa of Hanover, PA, Christopher W. Knight of Glenville, PA, and Donald A. Knight and wife Tammie of Hanover, PA; six grandchildren, Jonathan W. Stambaugh, Andrew C. Knight, Zachary J. Knight, Alyssa R. Knight, Joshua A. Knight, and Nicolas A. Knight.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn M. (Knight) Neshat.

Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Charles will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Charles may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
