Charles R. Strong

Charles R. Strong, 84, of Hanover, PA entered God’s eternal care, Monday, September 12, 2022, at UPMC Pinnacle Hanover. 

Born June 24, 1938, in Evansville, IN, he was the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Rogers) Strong. Charles was the loving husband of Joyce Ann (Davis) Strong, with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.  

Charles graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville, IN, class of 1956.

Charles was a veteran and served his country proudly in the US Air Force. He was a pilot and airline captain for nearly 40 years. He worked for both Eastern Airlines and US Airways.

In his spare time, Charles enjoyed working with computers and amateur ham radio, as well as spending time with his loving family.

Charles is survived by his two sons, Eric D. Strong & wife Andrea of Hanover, PA, and Matthew G. Strong of Walnut Creek, CA. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Douglas, Colleen and Rachel. He was preceded in death by his brother Tom.

A graveside service to celebrate and remember Charles’ life, will be held 11 AM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, on Orchard Road in Spring Grove, PA. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
