Charles W. "Chuck" McInturff Obituary

Charles W. “Chuck” McInturff, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, January 23, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital, York, PA, with his loving family by his side.

Born February 9, 1940, in Glen Ayre, NC, he was the son of Claude McInturff and Myrtle McInturff Hetrick.  Charles was the loving husband of Connie J. (Norris) McInturff, with whom he shared sixty-two years of marriage.

Chuck is survived by his children, son Rick and wife Christa, Olney, MD, daughter Dawnn Double and husband Kelly, Mt. Airy, MD, and son Trace and wife Gina of Gettysburg, PA. Also, three beloved grandchildren, Wyatt of Boulder, CO, Payton of Gettysburg, PA, and Charli McInturff at College of Charleston. He was extremely proud of his family.

He is also survived by a sister, Patricia Sterner of Hanover, sister-in-law Betty Thomas of Westminster, MD, brothers-in-law Wallace Norris (Deb) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Charles Norris (Jenny) of Frederick, MD. He was predeceased by a sister, Madge Lippy, brothers-in-laws Weldon Sterner, Larry and Curtis Norris and George Thomas.

Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Westminster HS, Westminster, MD.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving 2 of those years in Naples, Italy. He was the owner/operator of Chuck’s Auto Sales for thirty years until his retirement in 1996, was always around cars and he loved the Blue Oval and auto racing of all types

Chuck was a life member of the BPO Elks #763, Hanover, PA, the American Veteran’s Association, and was a prior member of the Hanover Area Jaycees. 

Chuck enjoyed volunteering with the PAL Program at the Hanover Hospital and UPMC, and was an active member of the Hanover Fitness Center.

Chuck and Connie toured most of the United States, traveled with dear friends west on a canyon tour, Alaska, Florida, England, Scotland, and Italy. He enjoyed going to breakfast with old friends, was an eclectic music lover, had a keen eye for style and was pretty handy with a hammer and nail, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Chuck loved to laugh, make others laugh, and to have fun.

A very special thank you to the caring and compassionate doctors, nurses and physician assistants in the ICU at York Memorial Hospital.

Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
