Charlotte E. Lemmon

Charlotte E. Lemmon, 92, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, March 19, 2021 at SpiriTrust Lutheran at UTZ Terrace in Hanover, PA.

Born January 12, 1929 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Iva (Bolin) Markle.  Charlotte was the loving wife of the late Holman T. “Pete” Lemmon, who died December 2, 2004, and with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Charlotte was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.  She worked at the Hanover Day Nursery for many years. 

Charlotte was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout leader.  She enjoyed roller skating at Forrest Park, Kopp’s Roller Rink, and Magic Elm.  Charlotte liked to play bingo, do word puzzles, read, color, and spend time with her family.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Teresa A. Hansford and husband Gary, and Dennis L. Lemmon and wife Kathy all of Hanover, PA, and Robert T. Lemmon of Lecanta, FL; twelve grandchildren, Fenton T. Lemmon, Tammy Herman, Timothy Lemmon, Amanda Runkle, Nicole Caler, Danielle Lemmon, Jen Freet, Jill Lemmon, Jess Richley, Jed Lemmon, Ben Hansford and Marlee Hansford; 17 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren with one on the way; and 3 step great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, James M. Lemmon; a daughter in law, Linda G. Lemmon; a great granddaughter, Stevie Lyn Lemmon; three brothers, Fenton P. Markle, Burdett C. Markle, and John E. Markle; and two sisters, Vivian M. Mowery, and Ruth E. Stambaugh. 

The family would like to thank the Staff at Utz terrace for the wonderful care given to Charlotte over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Samuel Miller as celebrant.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.
