Charlotte M. Starner

Charlotte M. Starner, 98, formerly of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the York North Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York, PA.  

Born May 20, 1924, in Spring Grove, PA, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Lottie K. (Miller) Kling.  Charlotte was the loving wife of the late Paul M. Starner with whom she shared 55 years of marriage until his passing on May 15, 1998.

Charlotte was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church,  Hanover, PA, the Daughters of American Revolution, and the Daughters of American Colonists, and the local and National A.A.R.P.  She volunteered in the PA room at the Guthrie Memorial Library for many years.

Charlotte enjoyed Genealogy, making crafts which she sold at the Hanover Market from1994 – 1998, playing bingo, cards, knitting and being with her family and grandchildren.

Charlotte was instrumental in helping organize the Christian Miller family reunion in 1998 and looked forward to attending it every year.

Charlotte is survived by her children, James M. Starner and wife Phyllis of Hanover, PA,  Jeffrey P. Starner and wife Jeanette of Dover, PA, Jeanette L. Burgard and husband Jeffrey of McSherrystown, PA, 3 grandchildren, Angela Duttera and husband Jeffrey, Kevin Starner and wife Leann, Dr. Heather Hostler and husband Bernard, and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ralph Kling, Frank Kling, Paul Kling, Edna Rohrbaugh, Alice Erb, Esther Crowl, and Mary Luckenbaugh.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Charlotte will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with her Pastor, the Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation will be held from 10 -11 AM, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
