Charlotte R. Worley

Charlotte R. Worley, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center. 

Born December 2, 1934, at the York Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. Bubb and Romaine S. (Little) Bubb Ford and step daughter of the late Anna (Diehl) Bubb.  Charlotte was the loving wife of the late William J. Worley with whom she shared 55 years of marriage until his passing on May 29, 2007.  

Mrs. Worley was a 1951 graduate of Eichelberger High School.  She retired from Sears, Roebuck, & Co., and maintained a booth at Hanover Market for over 25 years.    She was a gifted “crafter” showcasing her artistry in crochet and sewing at her stand at the market, known as “The Corner Fair”.    C&W Crafts (Charlotte & William Crafts) made everything from woodworking crafts to various needlecraft items.  Charlotte was also an avid baseball fan and you could often find her watching back-to-back to back games featuring the Orioles, Phillies, and Nationals.

Charlotte was a member of Hanover First Church of God, Hanover, PA, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Heart-to-Heart club, and sewed costumes for many church musicals and cantatas.  

Charlotte is survived by her sons, Dennis W. Worley and his wife, Cathy of Hanover, Larry E. Worley and his wife, Vicki of Hanover, and Richard A. Worley and his wife, Amy of York; six grandchildren, Jennifer Wagaman, Chad Worley, Brett Worley, Austen Worley, Keegan Worley, and Seth Worley; eight great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one sister, June Winter of Carlisle, PA; two step brothers, Irvin Diehl of Hanover, PA and George Diehl of York, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Bubb and Raymond Bubb; and two sisters-in-law, Sofie Bubb and Jane Bubb.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Charlotte’s life will be held 11:00AM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Hanover First Church of God, 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover, PA.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, as well as from 10-11 AM, Friday, April 26, 2024 at the church.
