Cheryl A. Gordon

Cheryl A. Gordon, 68, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, April 3, 2025, at UPMC Hanover Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born April 14, 1956, in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ellis W., Jr., and Gladys (Koch) Van Horn.  Cheryl was the loving wife of Scott D. Gordon with whom she shared sixteen years of marriage.

Cheryl was a member of First Church of Hanover.

Cheryl was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy.  She worked as a custodian with the South Western School District for thirteen years, and as a housekeeper at Homewood at Plum Creek for several years.

Cheryl loved being with her grandsons, and her five dogs, Zoey, Si, Max, Jax, and Daisy.

In addition to her loving husband, Scott, Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Stephanie M. Riley and husband Bradley of Hanover, PA; her stepdaughter, Courtney Gordon of Hanover, PA; five grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Brandon, Eric, and Lucas; and her brother, Daniel F. Van Horn and wife Elizabeth of Arlington, VA.  She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen P. Berkheimer.

A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cheryl’s name to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406.
