Clair William Brumgard, 95, of Gaines, PA, and formerly of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Monday, March 28, 2022, at UPMC Wellsboro, PA.
Born March 4, 1927, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late William A. and Minnie V. (Lawyer) Brumgard. Clair was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Sanderson) Brumgard who died October 11, 2018, and with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.
Clair was a former member of St. Bartholomew’s United Church (ELCA), Hanover, PA.
Mr. Brumgard worked for Revonah Spinning Mills and Little’s Dairy in Hanover, as well as a route driver for Pensupreme Dairy of Harrisburg, serving eastern Perry County. He also was a feed manager for dairy farms in Eastern PA and NJ. Later in life he worked as a bank and medical equipment courier until his retirement in 2006.
Clair is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sherry Brumgard of Lansing, MI, Robert and Marjorie Brumgard of Humble, TX, David and Cathy Brumgard of Chattanooga, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Steve Mathis of Rancocas, NJ, Susan and James Smith of Gaines, PA, and Marie and Steve Heil of Camano Island, WA; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Nevin, Dorothy, Lillian, Cleason and Catherine.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Clair will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Reverend
Kim Blocher officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
