Clarence D. “Clarney” Lauer, II, 81, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Sunday, October 20, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side.
Born January 5, 1943, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence D. and Edna “Katie” M. (Cline) Lauer. Clarney was the loving husband of Sandra L. (Hoover) Lauer with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Clarney was a 1960 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Navy.
Clarney retired in 2000 as a Project Manager at the Bechtel Company where he worked for over thirty years, travelling all over the world.
Clarney was a member of the Hanover AmVets, the McSherrystown Home Association, the New Oxford Social Club, the Hanover Home Association, and the Hanover Street Rod Association.
Clarney loved golf and classic cars, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife Sandra, Clarney is survived by three children, Angela George and husband Daniel of York, PA, Thomas Lauer of York, PA, and Wayne Lauer and wife Gabrielle of Logan Township, NJ; two stepchildren, Carla Deardorff and husband Randy, and Alan Redding and wife Kathy of Hanover, PA; five grandchildren, Ben Lauer, Olivia Lauer, Nathan Deardorff, Ashley Deardorff, and Mallory Walker and husband Andrew; two sisters, Sandra Crawford and husband Jack of Hanover, PA, Sharon Weaver and husband Greg of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and John Lauer and wife Cindy of York, PA.
As per his wishes, Clarney donated his body to science. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00AM, Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Friday, November 1, 2024, at the funeral home.
