Clotilde M. “Clodie” Bixler, 83, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, July 30, 2021, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, PA.
Born July 27, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Archibald C. and Clotilde M. (McDonnell) Mudge. Clodie was the loving wife of Wilson E. “Bix” Bixler, Jr. with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
Clodie was the first woman on the Board of Directors when the North Hanover YMCA was built. She volunteered in many ways such as the cafeteria when her children were growing up, the school PTO, and later was a lobbyist to bring awareness for the Kidney Cancer Association.
Clodie was a kind, positive, and loving person. She enjoyed traveling, deep sea fishing, Christian music, and eating out. She cared deeply about her family and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to hear of their adventures.
In addition to her loving husband, Wilson, Clodie is survived by her children, David C. Stambaugh of Arnold, MD, and Debra M. Stambaugh of York, PA; stepchildren, Chris Myers and husband Mark, Diane Buvia, and Larry Bixler; five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dane M. Stambaugh and Douglas P. Stambaugh; and one sister, Julie A. Caruso.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
