Clyde J. Gotwalt, 91, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Homewood at Plum Creek with his loving family by his side.
Born July 27, 1931, in North Codorus Township, York County, PA, he was the son of the late Stewart and Mary (Pfiefer) Gotwalt. Clyde was the loving husband of Reda J. (Clouser) Gotwalt with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.
Clyde was a member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.
Clyde was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Army. He retired from Sheets Truck Center in 1996 after forty-five years of service as a parts manager.
Clyde was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 227, Hanover, PA.
Clyde loved bowling and was a member of the Tuesday night men’s league and the Sunday night mixed league, he enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and was there Monday through Saturdays most weeks.
In addition to his loving wife, Reda, Clyde is survived by his children, Thomas J. Gotwalt of Glenville, PA, and JoAnn M. Werner and husband Keith of Spring Grove, PA; three grandchildren, Zachary Werner, Aubri Werner, and Brooke Gotwalt; and a brother, Robert Gotwalt of Spring Grove, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Gotwalt; and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline H. Gotwalt.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Clyde will be held 11:00AM, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor the Rev. Stan Combs officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Viewings and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and from 10:00-11:00AM, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the funeral home. The Hanover Allied Veterans Burial Detail Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
