Clyde Leroy Werner, 73, of Hanover, PA entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at UPMC Harrisburg.
Born July 7, 1948, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob J. and Ruth N. (Leppo) Werner. He was the loving husband of Joan (Hildebrand) Werner with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Clyde graduated from South Western High School in 1966. He went through the apprenticeship program at Black & Decker and was a tool and die maker for 25 years. He worked on the family farm in West Manheim with his brother Dale all his life. He drove a school bus for the South Western School District and was an owner contractor for Carroll County Schools for 13 years.
Clyde was a life member of St. David’s United Church of Christ, Hanover PA as well as the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company.
Clyde enjoyed working on the family farm, being with friends and taking trips to Florida and the PA Mountains. He loved going to his grandsons’ 4H Club Shows and watching them show their Angus Steers and Pigs.
Surviving in addition to his wife Joan, is his son, Allen E. Werner, and wife Jennifer of Hanover, PA, two grandsons, Jacob A. Werner and Justin L. Werner, a brother, Dale J. Werner and wife Joyce of Hanover, PA, and a sister, Nancy J. Rabert of Columbia, SC.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Clyde’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA, with his Pastor, the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held 6-8 PM, Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the church. Burial will be in St. David’s Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA.
