Danny W. Tweedy, 76, passed away on June 14, 2026 peacefully at home. Born on August 20, 1949, Danny lived a life filled with family, service, hard work, and the outdoors. Danny was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He worked as a master plumber and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and camping at Raystown Lake. He was also a devoted fan of Pittsburgh professional sports teams. Above all, Danny loved his family. He is survived by his wife Cindy Tweedy, children – Kimberly Tweedy Tremaglio – spouse Larry; Sarah Tweedy Weaver – spouse Jeff and grandchildren Austin, Hunter, and Shyanne; Lori Tweedy Patrick – spouse Brandon and grandchildren Myles, Ruby, and Emma; Daniel Tweedy – spouse Crystal and granddaughter Ella; and Jill Tweedy Tapia – spouse Tommy and grandchildren Everett and Leah. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he loved them unconditionally. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Corrine Tweedy, and his sister Linda. He is also survived by his sisters Roxanne (Tom), Darlene (John), and Terry (Martin), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly. Danny will be remembered for his love of family, his patriotism, his sense of adventure, and the many memories he created with those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Danny will be held 11AM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in the Veteran’s section of Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Thursday, June 18, 2026, and from 10-11AM, Friday, June 19, 2026, at the funeral home.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Dan following the burial, at the Hanover Amvets, 206 Broadway, Hanover, PA, from 12-4PM ~ all are welcome.
