David R. Strock

David R. Strock, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on December 30, 2020 at Homewood at Plum Creek, in Hanover.

David was born September 15, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, PA. He was the son of the late Irvin Roy and Myrtle Irene (Cooley) Strock. David was the loving husband of the late Marguerite “Sis” J. (Fuhrman) Strock, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage until her passing on April 8, 2019.

David was a 1950 graduate of Eichelberger High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired after a long career with Letterkenny Army Depot – travelling the world to help repair and modernize air and missile defense systems.

In his spare time, David enjoyed gardening, playing pool, fishing, and watching old western movies.

David is survived by his children: David S. Strock of McSherrystown, PA, Susan A. Byers (Lynn) of Hanover, PA, and Julie A. Focht (Matt) of Gaithersburg, MD; four grandchildren: Joshua L. Byers, Brogan L. Goeller, Jantzen A. Focht, and Griffin D. Focht; and three great-grandchildren: Julien S. Goeller, Ezra H. Goeller, and Blair S. Byers. He also leaves behind one sister, Judy E. Ryon of Hanover, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Floyd L. Strock and Kenneth R. Strock.
