David F. Wolford

David F. Wolford, 87, of Spring Grove, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born February 25, 1938, in Cashtown, PA, he was the son of the late Albert and Olive (Pyle) Wolford.  David was the loving husband of Dorothy M. (Carbaugh) Wolford, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

David served his country proudly as a member of the National Guard.  He was truck driver for Excel Logistics, retiring in 2005, and receiving numerous safe driving awards, and he served as former Police Chief and police officer in Bonneauville, PA.

David was a member of the Fairfield Amvets Post #172.

David enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy, David is survived by five children, Carla Grove and husband Steve of Littlestown, PA, Tina Stevens of East Berlin, PA, Eric (Rick) Wolford of Chambersburg, PA, Jerome James and wife Lauren of York Springs, PA, and Jennifer Leppo and husband Ned of Spring Grove, PA; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Wolford of Hanover, PA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Edna Wolford of Ortanna, PA.  He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wolford in 2023; and all six of his siblings, Albert (Buzz) Wolford, Robert (Woody) Wolford, Katherine Moose, Helen Raffensperger, Phyllis Noble, and Kenneth Wolford.   

A funeral service to celebrate and remember David will be held 11AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Pastor Shane Fritz officiating.  Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown, PA., with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors.  Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6PM-8PM, Monday, March 24, 2025, and from 10AM-11AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the funeral home.
