Dawn M. (Kinneman) Henry, 94, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Monday, April 13, 2026, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born November 25, 1931, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Marie J. (Swope) Kinneman. Dawn was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Henry with whom she shared 58 years of marriage until his passing on November 16, 2011.
Dawn was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, and enjoyed working at the Thrift Shop, gardening, helping with the medical equipment loan program, being active on the Parent Council, and many other activities at the church. Dawn received the “Lorica” award from Bishop Timothy Senior (Bishop of Harrisburg) for her work at the church helping people with free medical equipment.
Dawn was a 1949 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown, PA, and a 1952 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Baltimore, MD. She was a staff nurse, working in the operating room at the Hanover Hospital for 5 years, and for the Visiting Nurse Association for 30 years until her retirement.
Dawn loved her family, and enjoyed going to the beach yearly with the entire family for 20 years, gardening, and luncheons with friends.
Dawn is survived by 4 children, Cindy Gant and husband Kenneth of Furlong, PA, and David Henry and wife Theresa, Sara Raubenstine, Ann Smith and husband Jim, all of Hanover, PA; 11 grandchildren, Rachel Mummert and husband Chris, Ryan Henry and wife Steph, Sean Henry and wife Lauren, Philip Gant and wife Katie, Gregory Gant and wife Sonja, Zachary Gant and husband Sam, Alyson Gant, Amy Sorice and husband Joe, Scott Raubenstine and wife Gina, Jordan Smith and wife Emily, and Brooke Antal and husband Bradley; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jacqueline Redding.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Michael P. Reid, II, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent Church Cemetery, Hanover, PA. Visitations and times to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, and from 10-11AM, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dawn’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA 17331, or to the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
