Debra L. Childs

Debra Lee Childs, 64, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born June 2, 1958, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Robert W. Baker and the late Charlotte (Schmidt) Baker.  Debra was the loving wife of Jeffery L. Childs with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.

Debra was a 1977 graduate of Perry Hall High School, Baltimore, MD.  She worked as a legal secretary for Miles & Stockbridge for over 30 years until her retirement.

Debra was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Abingdon, MD.  She enjoyed going to the beach, gardening, bird watching, shopping, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Jeffery, Debra is survived by a son, Jeffrey W. Childs of Bel Air, MD, a daughter, Jessica L. Moser of Westminster, MD, 3 grandchildren, Evan, Elise, and Markel, and three siblings, Charlotte, Roberta and John.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Sperry.

A memorial service to celebrate and remember Debra’s life will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, (Bonneauville), PA, with her Pastor, Father William Smith officiating.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 11 AM - 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the funeral home.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
