Delores B. Shaffer

Delores B. (Youtzy) Shaffer, 91, entered into God's eternal care Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the home of her son.

Born March 15, 1930, in Western Port, MD, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Beulah J. (Walker) Youtzy.  Delores was the loving wife of the late Robert C. Shaffer with whom she shared 53 years of marriage until his passing on November 16, 2004.

Delores retired from the Federal Government after many years of service at the Social Security Office in Woodlawn, MD. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and N.A.R.F.E.

Mrs. Shaffer loved reading, taking bus trips but especially enjoyed the times she spent playing cards and being with her children and their families.

Delores is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, David C. and Sherri A. Shaffer of Littlestown, PA and Mark B. Shaffer of Hanover, PA; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan L. and Steven C. Harrell of Eldersburg, MD; three grandsons, Eric E. Shaffer, Justin S. Harrell, and Jason A. Harrell; and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by all nine of her siblings.

A funeral service shall be held 2 PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 PM, Friday, January 14, 2022 at the funeral home.

The family suggests if you desire you may make memorial contributions in Delores’ name to the Hospice Program of the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
