Don B. Coulson, 84, of Littlestown, PA, passed away on Friday, February 27th, 2026, at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 8th, 1942, in Iowa. He grew up on the family farm in Kansas. He was the son of the late Donald O. and Emily E. (Emrich) Coulson. Don was the loving husband of Karen L. (Gabbert) Coulson, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.
Besides spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, camping and playing shuffleboard. However, Don’s passion was helping growers cultivate thriving crops year after year. For almost 50 years, while working at Miller Chemical & Fertilizer, he provided expertise to hundreds of growers across many states. He took great satisfaction in aiding with challenging problems of just about any plant, but particularly enjoyed the complexity of fruits. He was a trusted partner, working hand in hand with various-sized farmers, from small Amish communities to large operations.
Don was a veteran of the US Army, having served his country proudly.
Don was a member of the Hanover Republican Club, the Hanover Elks Lodge 763, and the Littlestown Eagles.
Don is survived by his loving wife Karen, his children, Deanne (Coulson) Flock and her husband Michael Flock, and Chuck Coulson and his wife Sondra Coulson, his stepchildren, Kevin Nelson and his wife Rebecca Nelson, and Kim (Nelson) Clark and her husband Joseph Clark, Jr.; his brother, Larry Coulson and his wife Marie; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol (Coulson) Weston and his first wife Louise E. (Hargett) Coulson.
A service to celebrate and remember Don’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors.
