Donald A. Fuhrman, 89, of Hanover, PA, entered into God’s eternal care, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Hanover Hall Nursing Home, Hanover, PA, with his loving family by his side.
Born July 14, 1934, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Catherine M. (Livelsberger) Fuhrman. Donald was the loving husband of Sandra J. (Brillhart) Fuhrman with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Donald was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover, where he served as an usher captain and greeter.
Donald was a 1954 graduate of Hanover High School, Hanover, PA. He was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Navy.
Donald retired from New Way Packaging Machinery in 2000, after thirty-six years of service as a machinist. He was a football coach for the Park Hills Packers, coached little league baseball, and also ran the chains and down markers at South Western High School home football games for more than 35 years. But his greatest joy was being a grandpa and great-grandpa.
In addition to his loving wife, Sandra, Donald is survived by his children, Wendy Fuhrman Zimmerman and husband Tom and Douglas A. Fuhrman and wife Holly both of Hanover, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew Zimmerman and wife Caroline, Andrew Zimmerman and wife Mary, Luke Zimmerman and wife Erin, Abby Fuhrman, and Joseph Fuhrman; two great-grandchildren, Lily S. Zimmerman and Hailey C. Zimmerman; two step-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Switzer and Isabella Fink; and two siblings, Gary Fuhrman and Janice N. Peck, both of Hanover, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth R. Fuhrman, Richard B. Fuhrman, and Ben Fuhrman.
Funeral Services to celebrate and remember Donald will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman officiating. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA.
