Donald R. Wagaman, Sr.

Donald R. Wagaman, Sr., 76, of New Oxford, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Saturday, January 6, 2024, UPMC Hanover Hospital.

Born April 30, 1947, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Mildred I. (Sterner) Wagaman.  Donald was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Craig) Wagaman with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Donald worked as a maintenance mechanic at R.H. Sheppard’s for over 25 years until his retirement.  He was a life member of the New Oxford Social club, life member of the McSherrystown Home Association, and a member of the Hanover Republican Club as well as the McSherrystown Fish and Game Association.

Donald was a former youth sports coach and Boy Scout Leader when his children were growing up.  He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved going on cruises, enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his dog, Buddy.

In addition to his wife, Patricia, Donald is survived by three children, Denise McMaster, and husband Scott of Bonneauville, PA, Donald R. “Butch” Wagaman, Jr. of New Oxford, PA, and James Wagaman and wife Carrie of New Oxford, PA, 6 grandchildren, Krysten Scutta, Chantel Gillum, Courtney Macy, Ashley Wagaman, Aaron Wagaman, and Carter Wagaman, and one great grandchild, Everly.  He was preceded in death by one son, David M. Wagaman, and one granddaughter, Samantha E. Wagaman.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember Donald will be held 10 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Ken worthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA with Rev. E. Robert Burkhart officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, PA.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
