Dorothy B. (Buffington) Kehr

Dorothy B. Kehr, 89, of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace.

Born April 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George V. and Mary (Cramer) Buffington.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Linwood E. Kehr, who died October 18, 2025.  Dorothy retired from SKF Industries after 35 years as a Metrologist.  After retirement she enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Scheivert and husband, Tom of Hanover; grandchildren, Michael Scheivert and wife, Chao, of Eldersburg, MD, and Ellen Webster and husband, Erik, of Henrietta, NY; and four great-grandchildren, Bennett and Lila Webster and Lillian and Lucy Scheivert; and her sister, Linda Eltz, of Hanover.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randy A. Kehr, her brothers, Jacob, Joseph, George, William, and James Buffington, and her sisters, Nancy Smith, Patricia Seymore, Thelma Senft, Pauline and Virginia Buffington.

Following cremation, a Blessing service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Rev. Cole Mase as celebrant.  Inurnment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 – 11 AM, Friday, August 7, 2026, at the funeral home.
