Dorothy L. Thompson

Dorothy L. “Mamma Schmoo” (Thoman) Thompson, 76, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, April 23, 2021 at Casey House, Rockville, MD.

Born March 8, 1945 in Hanover, PA, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Melvin A. and Lera L. (Moul) Thoman.  Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Joseph "Papa Schmoo" R. Thompson, with whom she shared 48 1/2 years of marriage until his passing on September 14, 2013.

Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA, and S.A.V.E.S.   She retired from Homewood at Plum Creek with over 20 years of service in the Laundry Department.

Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother.  She loved all animals especially her Kitty Cats.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Joseph R. “Schmoo” Thompson, Jr., of Hanover, her daughter, Lisa A. Brandt and her husband Allan of Hanover, PA, and her brother, Larry B. Thoman of Hanover, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA with Msgr. James M. Lyons as the Celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, as well as from 10-11 AM, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the church.
