Douglas Charles Rickrode, 56, of Hanover, PA, entered into God's eternal care, Friday, July 23, 2021, at Gettysburg Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born May 18, 1965, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of Robert C. Rickrode and Linda E. Bixler.
Doug was a 1984 graduate of South Western High School. He worked for a variety of restaurants over the years as a cook.
Doug was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Hanover, PA, the Hanover Republican Club, and the Hanover Home Association.
Doug loved to go fishing, going on walks, was an avid Washington Redskins football fan, and especially enjoyed being with his family.
In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by his sister Michele L. Kale and husband William, a nephew, Andrew Kale and wife Kayla, great nephew Jackson Kale, and a great Uncle, Wilson Bixler. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marlyn K. Bixler and Margaret L. Bixler.
Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate the life of Doug will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, July 29, 2021at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Frederick Stevenson officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 10 -11 Am, Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the funeral home.
