Dwight M. Frock, 82, of York, PA, entered God’s eternal care Monday, June 8, 2026, at UPMC Memorial Hospital, York, PA, with his loving family by his side.
Born January 20, 1944, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late J. Clair and Mary A. (Martin) Frock. Dwight was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Garrett) Frock with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Dwight was a 1961 graduate of South Western High School. He was a machinist at Caterpillar in York, PA, until his retirement in 2007.
Dwight was a master of resourcefulness and patience. He had a deep passion for restoring old cars and bringing mechanical things back to life – where others saw a broken machine, he saw a puzzle to be solved. If a replacement part didn’t exist, he simply built the tool to create it himself – a testament to his ingenuity and brilliant problem-solving spirit. His ability to fix the unfixable was a true source of pride and he found great joy in the quiet satisfaction of making things run perfectly again.
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Dwight is survived by his children, Kimberly A. (Frock) Wright and husband Charles of Daytona Beach, FL, Troy M. Frock and wife Gloria of Jacksonville, FL, and Todd M. Frock of Thomasville, PA; 5 grandchildren, Aimee, Kyle, Kate, Sara, and Nicole; 2 great-grandchildren, Waylon and Ayla; and three siblings, Janice Frock and Wayne Frock, both of Hanover, PA, and David Frock of Wilmington, DE.
A graveside service will be held 10:30AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. David’s Church Cemetery, Baltimore Pike, Hanover, PA., with Rev. Scott A. Sager officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dwight’s name to St. David’s United Church of Christ, 142 Hobart Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331. Memories and Condolences can be shared at www.kenworthyfh.com.
