Edgar Howard “Bud” Grubb, 78, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, November 24, 2023, at York Hospital.
Born May 25, 1945, in Wytheville, VA, Bud was the son of George Harmon and Lelia Ida (Grinnell) Grubb. He was the husband of Joann M. (Douglass) Grubb.
Bud graduated in the class of 1963 from Bel Air High School in Bel Air, MD. A few years after high school, Bud entered and served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He joined in 1966 and served until 1970.
Later, Bud went to work as a helper doing ductwork for heating and A/C. He worked his way through the trade to become an Estimator. Bud worked as a heating and A/C Estimator for over 25 years for James Craft until his retirement in 2010.
In his younger years, Bud enjoyed playing softball. He competed in the 1992 Men’s World Fastpitch Tournament. In his free time, Bud also enjoyed hunting and watching television, especially sports and NASCAR racing.
In addition to his wife Joann, Bud is survived by his two children, Chad G. Grubb and his wife Rhonda of Darlington, MD, and Angela Biatia and husband Dave of Red Lion, PA, stepchildren, Carla Goodman, Nancy Goodman, Michelle Maxey, Robert Behl, Jr., two grandchildren, Caitlyn Durgin and husband Jarrett, and Marietta Biatia, and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bud also leaves behind his siblings, Agnes Williams, Wilmer “Shorty” Grubb, Geneva Little, C.A. Harris, and Dee Foley. He was preceded in death by his late wife Dorothy M. (Reed) Grubb on April 24, 2007.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Bud’s life will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA 17331, with Reverend Scott A. Sager officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
