Edward E. Wright

Edward “Ed” Eugene Wright, 84, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Friday, April 8, 2022, at UPMC Hanover.

Born January 17, 1938, in Hanover, PA, Edward was the son of the late Gloyd & Elizabeth (Miller) Wright.  He was the loving husband of Patricia Ann (Duck) Wright with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Ed was a veteran, serving his country proudly in the US Air Force. After his time in the service, he became a welder. He was employed by Riley Welding & Fabricating and then also at Utz Quality Foods, which is where he retired from in 2000.

In his free time, Ed loved to play golf. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his loving family.

In addition to his wife Pat, Ed is survived by his daughter Laura Yohe & husband David, of Hanover, PA, and two grandsons, Thomas Yingling & wife Heather of Hanover, and Benjamin Yingling of Spring Grove, PA. He also leaves behind two siblings, Joseph Wright & wife Patricia of Hanover, PA, and Rose Horner & husband Rod, of Charleston, WV, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings, his twin brother Philip Wright, Lawrence Wright, Larry Wright, Gene Wright, and his sister Shirley Wright.

A funeral service to remember Ed’s life will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with Reverend C. Edward Brower officiating.  A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6-8PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, and 10-11 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens with military honor guard detail.
