Edward A. Dennin

Edward A. Dennin, 85, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 21st, 2026, surrounded by his family.  Born May 10th, 1941, in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Aloysius B. and Anna E. (Shimp) Dennin. 

He was a graduate of Elizabethtown College and University of Pennsylvania.  He was also a graduate of the U.S. Army Ordinance School and was a platoon leader and later executive officer in the 586th Ordinance Company.  In the next assignment he was appointed commander of the weapons and chemical branch, and logistical command, Ryukyu Islands.

After completing military service, he was employed by PennDOT to manage the Department Employee Safety Program.  After retirement he provided risk management consulting services to the insurance industry.  He also served six years as a member of the Hanover Borough Council. 

He was a certified safety and loss control specialist and a former member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the National Safety Council and the National Fire Protection Association.

He will be remembered for the deep joy and love he found in maintaining his garden, watching birds and the quiet peace of the outdoors.  In addition to his wife Deborah, he is survived by his daughter, Erin and her husband Erik Linder.  Edward was preceded in death by his brother Francis Dennin, and sisters Claire Hensel and Sister Dolores Ann Dennin. 

A private service and burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
