Eileen C. Boone

Eileen C. Boone, 86, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care Thursday, August 22, 2025, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center.

Born February 22, 1939, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Conrad G. and Joyce (Chojnacki) Backert.  Eileen was the loving wife of the late Roland A. Boone, who passed away April 13, 2019.

Eileen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA.  She volunteered at the St. Joseph Thrift Store for many years.

Eileen was a graduate of Towson High School, and was a bank teller for 20 years until her retirement.

Eileen enjoyed doing needlepoint, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eileen is survived by her sons, Roland A. Boone, Jr. of Hanover, PA, and Matthew P. Boone, of Hanover, MD; four grandchildren, Roland A. Boone, III, Joshua T. Boone, Nicholas G. Boone, and Elizabeth H. Boone; and five siblings, George Backert, Sharon Parker, Joyce Burton, John Backert, and Jeffrey Backert.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Conrad Backert.      

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, August 28, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA, with Father Michael Rothan, as celebrant.  A graveside burial will be held at 1:30PM in Lorraine Park Cemetery, 5608 Dogwood Road, Baltimore, MD.  A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eileen’s name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Donation Processing Center, P.O. Box 5041, Boone, IA 50950-0041, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
