Ethel M. Meckley

Ethel Mae Meckley, 93 of Hanover, PA, entered God’s Eternal Care, Tuesday, April 22, 2025,  at the Gardens at Gettysburg Nursing Center.

Born June 22, 1931, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Glenn R. and Florence E. (Garrett) Sterner.  Ethel was the loving wife of the late Philip Roy Meckley with whom she shared 68 years of marriage until his passing on October 10, 2019.

Ethel was a member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.  She graduated from Eichelberger High School in 1948 and worked as a sales clerk at the former King’s Department Store for many years until her retirement.

Ethel is survived by two children, Sandra Myers and husband Jeffrey and Richard Meckley and wife Kathy all of Hanover, PA; three grandchildren, Monica Martin and husband Todd, Derek Myers and wife Crissy, and Travis Meckley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Wentz.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA.     

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ethel’s memory to St. David’s Lutheran Church, 1032 Musselman Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
