Franklin D. “Gunner” Peck, 90, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehab, Hanover, PA, with his loving family by his side.
Born October 27, 1934, in Hopwood, PA, he was the son of the late Doyle L. and Lena M. (Michener) Peck.
Franklin was a member of First Methodist Church in Punxsutawney, PA.
Franklin was a veteran and served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Franklin graduated from Police Academy in 1959, setting the record at the time on the shooting range earning the nickname “Gunner”. He served as a PA State Trooper, with Troop C, Punxsutawney, PA, for 30 years until his retirement. He was a life member of AMVETS.
Franklin served as a 4-H leader and various Horse and saddle clubs. He loved hunting, running endurance races, horses, and spending time with his family.
Franklin is survived by three sons, David F. Peck and wife Judy of Hanover, Pa, Daniel D. Peck of Millington, MD, and Dale S. Peck and wife Shawntel, of Hanover, PA.
Five grandchildren; Nathan Peck and Zachariah Peck of Hanover, PA, Alyssa Lauchman and Husband Wesley of West York, Taylor Peck of Laurel, Md and Andrew Peck of Millington MD.
One great-grandchild; Brady (Peck)Stockslager of North Dakota.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jarrett A. Peck and his sister, Roberta Jean Batcho of Fairchance, PA.
Following cremation, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
