Franklin Wayne Baker, 89, of Gettysburg, PA, entered God’s eternal care Friday, February 21, 2025, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, PA.
Born February 12, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Frank S. and Grace V. (Whalen) Baker. Frank was the loving husband of Jean (Gibson) Baker with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
Frank was a 1954 graduate of Calvert Hall College High School. He was a mason with the Baltimore Local Brick Layers Union #1 for fifty-three years until his retirement.
Frank loved animals, farming, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his loving wife, Jean, Frank is survived by a son, Joseph W. Baker of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three children, Robert H. Baker, Diane V. (Baker) Adams, and James L. Gibson; and two sisters, Helen M. Tucker and Sophie E. Loss.
A funeral service to celebrate and remember Frank will be held 12:00PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA, with the Pastor Jeff Sheely officiating. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM-12:00PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank’s name to Grace Presbyterian Church, 17 Wayne Ave, Hanover, PA 17331.
