Gary Leronia Howard was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 17, 1962, to Walker Leon Howard and Elzora Johnson. He graduated from Linden Mckinley High School in 1980. Gary moved to Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 29, where he met the love of his life Karen Howard. They eventually married in Westminster, Maryland in 1996.
As a child, Gary was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues at the Church of Christ Apostolic Faith in Columbus. Even then, he influenced many to be saved. Gary was also a proud family man who had a passion for cooking and hosting his family and friends. He spent the last several years working as a cook for Westminster Healthcare Center. Gary never met a stranger. He had an outgoing personality and was a loving and generous friend to everyone he encountered.
Gary, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He is preceded in death by his brother Labaron Howard and grandson Trenton Angell. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Karen; father, Walker Leon Howard; mother, Elzora Johnson; sons, Ryan Angell, Collin (Ginger) Angell, Walker Howard; daughters; Casey (Josh) Olinger, Cherelle Howard, Alesia Howard, Veronica (Manny) Gonzalez; brother; Joseph Howard; sisters; Lynda Dickerson, Tona Dickerson, Debra Montgomery, Melody Montgomery, Terry Montgomery, Karla Howard, Monica Howard; six grandchildren; Maxwell Angell, Leeland Olinger, Reightler Angell, Naomi Olinger, Eliana Gonzalez, Alessia Gonzalez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will have visitation on Sunday, January 17, from 5-7 p.m., at Bethel Assembly of God located at 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340. A celebration of life service will also take place at Bethel Assembly of God on Monday, January 18 beginning at 3 p.m.
A college fund will be set up for Gary's grandchildren soon. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Bethel Assembly of God, c/o Karen Howard, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA 17340.
