Gary F. Miller, 78, of Glenville, PA, entered God's Eternal Care, Thursday, November 9, 2023, at UPMC Hanover Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Born April 4, 1945, in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late John and Nadine (Storm) Miller. Gary was the loving husband of the late Dawn M. (Sterner) Miller who passed away June 3, 2020, and with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Gary was a tavern owner with his wife Dawn, and owned and operated Dawn’s Café in Hanover, PA, for 28 years, and also worked at Hoffman Pattern Shop for many years.
Gary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover, PA. He was a member of AMVETS Post #22, the Hanover Eagles Aerie #1406, the Hanover Home Association, the McSherrystown Home Association, the McSherrystown Moose, the BPOE Hanover Elks #763, and the Republican Club of Hanover.
Gary loved riding his motorcycle with his wife Dawn, fishing, woodworking, flying remote-controlled airplanes, and spending time with family and friends.
Gary is survived by his children, Carol L. Young and husband Kenneth of Hanover, PA, and Gary J. Miller of Glenville, PA; three grandchildren, Jessica Heiner, Heather Toomey, and Cory Miller; nine great-grandchildren, Dalton Heiner, Caden Heiner, Madison Toomey, Jaden Miller, Audrianna Toomey, Hunter Toomey, Jesilyn Toomey, Kennedi Toomey, and Eli Toomey; and a brother, Thomas Miller of Hanover, PA.
A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 4:00-6:00PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. A graveside service will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA, with Deacon Thomas Aumen officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Toomey, Dalton Heiner, Brian Ronayne, Brent Roberts, Gary Hillagoss, and David Criss, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s name to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
